UK'S LARGEST INDEPENDENT DAIRY
An evaluation of a proposed 24 month strategic plan that would cost an estimated £26.5m.
Our client has worked for decades with their farmers to securely deliver a wide range of dairy ingredients to food sectors across the country. As a result, our client has not only established a firm reputation for quality and reliability, but has also become a leading supplier of milk and dairy ingredients to the national food industry.
The client had developed a strategic plan that aimed to streamline their current manufacturing footprint from three sites to one singular production site. Before implementing their plan, they wanted to ensure that this was the right move for the business. So they contacted us to perform a thorough evaluation study.
Our independent and unbiased team are perfectly placed to perform a detailed evaluation of proposed strategic plans. We have the benefit of being outside of the business, so our many years of experience in the food industry and our knowledge of implementing projects can be impartially applied to gain a completely accurate and uninfluenced compilation of facts.
Working closely with the senior team, we began to formulate a detailed understanding of the current state of the enterprise and their three manufacturing sites.
With this forming the basis of our evaluation, we then created a future state footprint in-line with the proposed changes, incorporating forecast demand and utilising technological advances.
Using capital budgets, transition programmes, organisational designs and land evaluations, we were able to develop detailed current and future state profit and loss and discounted cash flows. We also made sure to consider alternative partial consolidation scenarios during the study.
The final study clearly illustrated that the proposed strategic reorganisation was not viable, and thanks to the independent and convincing nature of our study, our client decided that the project would not proceed.
