"Integrated Food Projects were employed to deliver the Pate Road satellite site project which was carried out on time, to budget and to a suitably high standard. We are very happy with the site and our customers, who are major UK supermarket retailers, are impressed by the completed food process engineering facilities. The process of developing the requirements, and appointing a design team and set of suitable contractors with a common purpose and a collaborative approach was particularly successful. The project delivery was a challenging, but enjoyable experience and I would welcome the opportunity to work with the IFP team in the future."

Kev Pochin, Production Manager, Samworth Brothers Pate Road Site

Value - £4.5million
Programme – 34 weeks

Integrated Food Projects were appointed by Samworth Brothers to oversee the construction of a new convenience food process engineering facility in an existing factory in Melton Mowbray.

Low risk and high care areas and facilities incorporating a cook house were developed and incorporated into the food processing plant layout.

The site was converted from one half of a larger warehouse unit to accommodate a fully operational food process engineering facility and food processing plant including - storage, food processing, cooking, assembling and packing of convenience foods.

The scope of the fit out included new effluent drainage, under-floor heater mats, holding chill areas, new blast chillers and a freezer store. Room temperature and ventilation control were achieved using positive displacement units. An upgraded power supply, new resin floors and food-safe composite panel walls and ceilings.

Additionally a new service yard and car park was constructed.
